At Rest in Essence, our team of compassionate psychologists are dedicated to helping individuals who are either seeking growth or struggling with mental health challenges. We believe in offering personalised care that is compassionate, holistic, and collaborative, tailored to meet your unique needs and circumstances.
We understand that each person is part of a larger system, we take the time to understand your relationships and the world around you, working collaboratively with you to challenge self-limiting beliefs and nurture your strengths and values.
Individuals seeking psychological support may self-refer by contacting us through this web page or calling the service. Alternatively, referrals may be made by your GP through a Mental Health Treatment Plan (see Fees & Rebates tab for further details).
How can we help?
We work with people across the lifespan to provide a broad range of assessments and deliver effective evidence-based treatments which are individually tailored to each client’s needs and circumstances. We aim to match you with a psychologist who has experience in working with your particular area of need. Whether you have received a formal diagnosis or are going through a challenging time and are seeking a professional to talk to, our team at Rest in Essence will work alongside you in supporting change.
What type of therapeutic approaches do our psychologists use?
Our psychologists are trauma informed and use evidence-based therapies, including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Person-Centred Therapy
- Motivational Interviewing (MI)
- Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Skills (DBT)
- Strength-Based Approaches
What to expect at your first session?
During your first session, your therapist will work with you to establish a safe and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your thoughts and feelings. They will also conduct an initial assessment to gain a better understanding of your mental health history, current concerns, and goals for therapy.
We understand that discussing personal issues with a stranger can be difficult, and it’s normal to feel apprehensive about your first therapy session. Rest assured that our therapists aim to create a safe and non-judgmental space for you to explore your emotions and experiences.
We understand the importance of building a strong therapeutic relationship. You can learn more about our clinical team here.
