Workplace Wellbeing & EAP Services

Workplace Mental Health and Wellbeing Programs

Rest in Essence is a Newcastle based mental health and wellbeing organisation that provides education and awareness programs to enhance the wellbeing of our community.

Our mental health and wellbeing programs have been developed by a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals, including a Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Mental Health Nurses, Business Executives, and a team member who is an educator with experience as an elite athlete.

Our Workplace Wellbeing Programs focus on increasing the understanding of mental health and wellbeing to enhance individual, team, and organisational outcomes and performance. Embedded within the programs are evidence-based theories and models that provide participants with the tools and strategies to thrive in the workplace.

Organisational Leadership and Workplace Wellbeing:

Our Organisational Leadership and Workplace Wellbeing program provides leaders, managers, and supervisors with the knowledge to understand different mental health challenges, and how to implement strategies and supports for themselves and their teams. Leaders will also be provided an evidence-based psychological first aid framework (TAR3) for responding to workers experiencing episodes of psychological distress.

Workplace Wellbeing: Awareness and Individual Support Strategies

The Workplace Wellbeing: Awareness and Individual Support Strategies program is designed to provide workers with the general mental health knowledge to enhance awareness, and tools to develop their own workplace wellbeing plan. This program will guide participants to understand how they can be active in enhancing personal strengths to support their role, and professional performance.

Workplace Wellbeing and Colleague Support:

The Workplace Wellbeing and Colleague Support program is designed to build on the content provided in the Awareness and Individual Support Strategies session (above). Participants will review and evaluate their workplace wellbeing plan and will be guided to consider further strategies that could be implemented to enhance mental wellbeing. Additionally, workers will be provided the evidence-based psychological first aid framework (TAR3) to build capacity in teams to support colleagues who experience an episode of psychological distress in the workplace.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

Our employee assistance program provides external support for eligible employees, experiencing personal or work-related challenges.

We create short-term interventions and provide counselling sessions, in a warm and confidential setting. We draw on peoples’ strengths, using evidence-based psychological strategies.

We aim to support mental health and wellbeing in the context of individual, family and work-place systems. The benefits of engaging in an EAP service often extends to both employees and employers. Individuals typically build insight and set personal goals, working towards improving psychological health, wellbeing, functioning and productivity.

We understand that the mental health of employees is as important as their physical health. Early identification and intervention, can help employees better manage stress, improve coping, and address mood or interpersonal concerns promptly.  This can promote positive adjustment and personal growth for individuals and have a flow on effect to families, teams and workplace culture.

Common presenting concerns for engagement with an EAP service include:

  • Stress and burnout
  • Anxiety and depression
  • Relationships and family challenges
  • Substance misuse
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions and misadventure

Rest in Essence provide EAP appointments in person, in our Broadmeadow rooms, or via telehealth (video conference).  We can usually offer an appointment within one week (or sooner).
