Clinical Supervision Services: Helping those who help the Community
Rest in Essence cares deeply about the wellbeing and effectiveness of other professionals who provide mental health services in our community, and understands the breadth of clinical, organisational, systemic and personal factors that impact this. In providing this support, we understand that no one approach fits all professions, circumstances or individuals.
Examples of the support needs of helping professionals
- Clinical supervision – for psychology registration pathways or ongoing needs
- Work life balance and early career coaching
- Responding to feelings of moral injury or ‘burn-out’
- Vicarious trauma
- Lived experience – working with its value and challenges
- Balancing the human and professional aspects of a helping role
- Dealing with the 3 Ps (peers, policy and performance)
- Responding to one’s own moments of personal need, how to manage when your capacity is impacted by ill-health, low wellbeing, and/or acute crisis
Tailored approach
Our starting point will always be to talk with you about what type of support you are seeking. Amongst the services available, there are those provided under a traditional clinical supervision model, as well as brief workplace focussed coaching and psychological counselling. Individuals may self-refer, with clinical supervision and therapeutic supports being priced according to the relevant team member, under regular fee for service. Mental Health Treatment Plans and/or private health insurance rebates may be accessible for the latter. Please read on for more details about our senior supervision team and their backgrounds.
Process orientated as well as content driven supervision
Our team is dedicated to supporting your learning and growth in all aspects of the work that you do. Depending on individual needs, you may favour these sessions to focus upon the development specific clinical skills, or you may be seeking a safe space to pause and reflect.
Through feedback from the sector, we have observed the value of reflective practice, from personal and professional perspectives. This process involves critically examining our clinical practice and workplace experience, including exploring emotional responses, relational, and client involves critically evaluating ourselves as not merely a role, but a whole and complex person.
